Our facilities allow children at Bunnykins to experience a range of activities that contribute to their emotional, physical, social, intellectual, language and creative development in an environment which is comfortable, safe and secure. The building is centrally heated with screened radiators in all areas. There is a large selection of toys available for inside activities as well and children are allowed to choose freely what they would like to play with from toys suitable for their age group. There is also a pre-school / messy play area organised for painting and other craft activities with facilities for displaying childrens efforts in this important development area. A selection of table top toys are used to assist in developing childrens' abilities in counting, sorting and defining small and big. For rest periods, there are toddler and baby sleep rooms with cots and buggies available for each child's needs. A dedicated dining area is used for breaks and lunchtimes and food is prepared in separate food preparation area equipped with modern cooking facilities. Outside there is a large artificial soft-surface play area and, weather permitting, as much use as possible is made of climbing equipment, bikes, balls and other outside activities. All
activities are planned and a timetable is maintained with reference
to children learning and playing in a fun way. Themes include Mothers
Day, an Easter Egg hunt, Sports Day and St. David's Day . Staff encourage
the children to express themselves through language and literacy using
such activities as singing songs, reading and participating in role
play.
